SUEÑOS INTIMOS [INTIMATE DREAMS]

SUEÑOS INTIMOS [INTIMATE DREAMS]

Mexico, Mexique, 2007

Through Letty, we get a glimpse into the lives of a group of girls born with HIV, receiving special care in La Casa De La Sal, a home in Mexico City. Using media transference, a technique they’ve applied in other projects, Patrick and Miki engaged in dialogue with the girls and were accepted into their daily lives. The girls learned to use audiovisual tools—camera obscuras—to explore their own personal world, marked by the space and routine of the orphanage they call home. The result is a detailed collage of contrasts, luminescence and poetic moments. Beyond the disease and social stigma, these experiences provide opportunities for spontaneous creativity, revealing the girls’ hopes and dreams.
